Ian is a specialist in business and programme strategy with a background of over 20 years in very large, technically complex capital programmes in management and advisory roles. His experience covers financial strategy and management, front end options evaluation, strategic analysis and commissioning management. Ian is also a highly accomplished facilitator and has facilitated top management teams on numerous international assignments. He is able to combine his strategic, management and technical knowledge with his skills in facilitation to deliver highly effective, collaborative sessions. One of his key strengths is his ability to open up potentially complex issues for the whole group and enable inclusive and constructive debate, achieving a high level of buy-in. Ian is a Chartered Engineer, MIChemE, and an MBA who also has considerable experience of company financial management in the role of Finance Director. He is the founder and Managing Director of Cogentus.

Personal Details
Marital Status: Married with two children, aged 23 and 22.
Outside Interests: Combining travel with white-water kayaking, he has run trips and expeditions to the European Alps, USA, Chile, Eastern Turkey, Nepal and Papua New Guinea. He has found that travel not only provides a new perspectives, it develops new skills - and awakens dormant ones.
