When Teams Can’t Decide.

The Harvard Business Review, November 2008 has an excellent article about an Executive Team trying to make a decision. No matter how much time or effort is spent, the team can’t decide and the CEO has to make the final call. Yet, when it’s made, few people like the decision.

The reason this occurs are too numerous to mention but is inherent in the act of trying to arrive at a collective preference on the basis of individual preferences.

The article then explains that it is possible to use proven, practical measures to break the impasse. These measures have been proven effective in scores of strategies, for companies of all sizes and enable teams to move towards a no-fault style of decision making.

It’s well worth reading the article, but you should also give us a call. This is what we do, exactly as it says in the article. We can make a difference to your organisation.
